Decisions 02:06
Decisions Looking up, don’t know which way to go This sign is saying NO, that sign is saying YES Standing at the crossroads, don’t know which way to go Decisions to make, new direction to take… Come to that fork in the road Aint even on the map still I put down my heavy load But I don’t feel no respite cos time is so tight I gotta decide real quick Got to pick my way and move on… Looking up, don’t know which way to go This sign is saying NO, that sign is saying YES Standing at the crossroads, don’t know which way to go Decisions to make, new direction to take… © Iko-ei-Ojo Akoh 2010

Happy Place See that guy in the corner Drowning his sorrows in a pint of beer See that chip on his shoulder Growing bigger and so is his fear See his lust for life Slowly smothered by internal strife See his beautiful wife She ran away with the kids to Fife See the girl in that corner No-one ever said a kind word to her Her self-esteem shot to pieces Like blood sucked away by leeches She doesn’t know her rights No kinda future in her sights See her wonderful talents But she’s oppressed by predatory agents See the old lady in that corner A fiercely independent pensioner But she can’t shut her eyelids Nor stop praying for her grandkids Long ago her teenage daughter Had a girl they called Jennifer But 16 years later She ran away with some drifter That lass in the other corner Looks kinda like Jennifer See the man behind the bar He’s the world’s best listener Used to think nothing could shock him Until he met this guy called Jim He’s heard all the stories So he’s things that others just don’t notice See his hopes and dreams Just out of reach or so it seems… Now you’ve met the regulars You see why they call it the ‘Happy Place’ © Iko-ei-Ojo Akoh 2007

Lord’s Prayer Song Our Father, who art in Heaven Yet you’ve been right here with me, Always Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be your name When I don’t have the words to say; When my flesh is weak; In every circumstance Hallowed be your name Your Kingdom come Lord, let it start in me (Cos) In my SoulMind’s Eye I see Your Kingdom coming through like a mighty wave: Flowing through me; flooding this world; Turning everything upside-down… Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven Give us this day our daily bread The strength I need to get through the day; Discernment to see your way and Wisdom to stick…. Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors For how can I hold them when you have set me free Always…?! Forgive me when I remember wrongs done against me because mine could fill many songs (I won’t sing!) Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil Though I know that when I fall you’ll pick me up but keep me running in the right direction, Always For yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, Forever Amen © Iko-ei-Ojo Akoh 2008

Cinemateur 03:47
Cinemateur Cover is blown, creativity shown As seeds grow, the message gets known Lay it down raw and raise it up live Your resistance thaws, you can’t stop the jive From what your ears hear to what your mind sees Your body feels the beat as you listen to me Spittin’ and rhymin’, particular timing Words are condensed because of the stylin’ Seminal works of Wes the Genius Got you pumpin’ like you’re on ProPlus Creations of the Cinemateur for the visual connoisseur Can you read between the lines, find the message in the beats? Morse code rhymes tapped out with your feet Tall guy, bad guy, good guy Director say ‘Jump’ actor say ‘How high?’ Melding of minds and creative forces The magic comes from various sources Vision fed to collabo crew to create something pure and true Tapping the juices from head to toe, trying to establish a common flow Stepping out of our shells, follow in the footsteps of Orson Welles Bringing to reality from off the page, musings of a have-a-go sage The pen is mightier than the sword A picture tells a thousand words Actions speak louder than words Well I was talking to the Cinemateur and he was rapping to me about the power of four: Creativity, Skill, Vision and Will Cover is blown, creativity shown Seminal works of Wes the Genius Melding of minds and creative forces Bringing to reality from off the page Write a new chapter, starting again Different pitch but the tone’s the same Unity in diversity, subverting negative actuality Soothing hurts through the visual arts A medicinal tonic, the power of music © Iko-ei-Ojo Akoh, Wes Oakland 2008

Hard Times 01:25
Hard Times These are the times when it’s hard Trying to get you a job No money coming in But it’s pouring out Job hunt is going so slow But hey, what do you know? If you want that perfect job, You’ve got to hold out You’ve got to cling to the hope There’s a position that’s dope Inscribed with your name The others just aint the same! I’m talking from experience, It will grow you patience Keep an open mind You never know what you’ll find I once heard a man say If only I’d shown more faith Woulda been a three month holiday You’ve got to trust in God’s grace… © Iko-ei-Ojo Akoh 2007
